I hate arising early in the morning-Do you feel the same about yourself ?

Getting Up early is my biggest problem. Does it matter ?

Waking up early is considered an intelligent practice but it is not the hard and fast rule. There are people who get up late and they are super intelligent . You believe it or not but Isaac Newton himself used to wake up very late. Scientist believe that people who sleep late in the night are more creative than those who sleep early . And, scientist also say that people who arise early are more intelligent than those who get up late. I don’t know what to believe . But I hate arising early in the morning and so I will choose , it makes me creative if I sleep late.


I hate arising early in the morning : Why ?

I don’t know why but I feel exhausted when I get up early in morning . Does it really matter if I sleep late ? While you sleep, you go through cycles of sleep states. The first state in a sleep cycle is light sleep, followed by deep sleep and a dream state referred to as REM-sleep.

A full sleep cycle lasts about 90 minutes and is normally repeated several times each night. So how does it matter if I sleep late or early ? What matters is the time period where sleep cycle completes in 90 minutes .

Our bodies require sleep in order to maintain proper function and health. In fact, we are programmed to sleep each night as a means of restoring our bodies and minds.

Two interacting systems—the internal biological clock and the sleep-wake homeostat—largely determine the timing of our transitions from wakefulness to sleep and vice versa.

These two factors also explain why, under normal conditions, we typically stay awake during the day and sleep at night. So if I hate arising early in the morning , I don’t care.


Sleep patterns can be affected by many factors, including age, the amount of recent sleep or wakefulness, the time of the day or night relative to an individual’s internal clock, other behaviors prior to sleep such as exercise, stress, environmental conditions such as temperature and light, and various chemicals.


Is it dangerous to sleep late at night ?

According to research published in The Huffington Post, those who deviate from the normal sleep schedule are considered more intelligent. This finding is supported by research suggesting that those who create new evolutionary patterns (compared to those who stick with the normal patterns developed by our ancestors) are the most progressive.

If I hate arising early in the morning it makes sense. After all, those who are the first to change (to seek out novelty) are always the most progressive and intelligent in a society.

And according to researchers at the University of Madrid, after analyzing the sleeping patterns of 1,000 students, they found that those who went to bed later (and consequently woke up later) scored higher on inductive reasoning tests, a test normally associated with general intelligence.


Is it bad to get up late ?

No it is not bad, its perfectly fine for the physical health and mental well being but his social life may get compromised depending on his work/job style. And it is fine if I hate arising early in the morning .

  • There is a common myth “early bird catches its prey”. It is definitely wrong(have you thought about the preys who woke up early)
  • ” early to bed and early from bed”- wrong too. This is not applicable in this era of electric lights.People doesn’t depend on sun anymore.
  • Also some people having incomplete information says biological rhythm or circadian rhythm malfunctions in night owls.


 What Psychologist Says ?

1. Physiologically our bodies, brain and mind are at their optimum when we go to bed around 10pm and wake up at 6am as this rhythm respects and follows our inner chronobiological clock- Which allows for the secretion  of all our hormones & neurotransmitters for perfect health.


2. When we go to bed late at night, regeneration of our bodies, skin, mind and brain does not happen and we cannot function at 100% the next day i.e. thinking, having energy and stamina and feeling good.

3. Accumulating late night sleep will tax our organs and entire body on the mid term and    long term which will slowly create diseases.

With ongoing late sleep, our adrenal glands cannot recharge, which will induce low energy and a high stress.


Early Risers vs Late Sleepers

Early risers take advantage of those morning hours to do mundane activities like go to the gym, make coffee and get to work early, but it’s the late sleepers who really take advantage of the night — the special time to create and invent something new.

This was an old concept of early to bed and early to rise when electricity was not invented and people wanted to do maximum activities in the daylight.

Now a days situation is reversed  and so more and more people are turning to night creatures .

Life is all about how you look at it, but it should really be about how (and when) we wake up with it. For all the flack and abuse late risers have been getting throughout the years, stick to your schedule, and don’t feel bad about another missed alarm.
